Pine Warbler or Ruby Crowned Kinglet? (1 Viewer)

Hi - sorry the picture is not great - can anyone tell what this bird is? I thought it was a juvenile Pine Warbler but my wife says possibly a Ruby Crowned Kinglet.

It was seen today in Eastern Pennsylvania (US) in a pine tree.

Your wife is right. It's a kinglet.

Most of them have moved through in the past week, but there are still a few around.

Agree this is a Kinglet rather than a Pine warbler, can we be sure it's Ruby-crowned rather than Golden-crowned?

Yes, Ruby-crowned. Some show a thin dark mark on each side of the beak like this one does, similar to a Golden-crowned's mustachial stripe but smaller. Not sure if it has to do with feather placement or if it is actually a marking.
