This plant was growing at the side of a ditch in Cambridgeshire. The leaf is around 18 inches long and has the appearance of beaten metal.

Can't really get a visual handle on what's going on... got any more photos? The dead dock leaf behind is unrelated presumably?

Thanks. Just checked the original RAW file which is the same. Don't think the dock leaf has anything to with it.

Actually I think the "beaten metal" is a leaf of Broad-leaved Dock as well.

Thank you. Should have been more scientific but were blown away by by the leaf's appearance
