Plovers in Cambodia (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

We've been discussing these birds with my friends, and I can't make up my mind on it.
Since I'm on the string team, I thought about asking for help on the ID.
They should be Little Ringed Plovers, but somehow, I find many features weird ...
Long long tail, long legs, long bill, weird calls, very thin eyering on all birds. I find somehow that there is black and white on the outer tail feathers ...
Many things lead me to believe they are Long-billed ¨Plovers.

What do you guys think ?

Cheers
Martin

They look fine for Little Ringed to me. The two species can be quite tricky but I'd expect Long-billed to look a bit bulkier and it should have a more obvious white wing bar. Size is a useful feature when there are other birds to compare, but of course that's not possible on photos. The eye-ring is narrower on non-breeding birds, and is fine for LRP.

I don't really know the call of Long-billed, but listening to calls on eBird they seem to be more disyllabic and slightly deeper: ML97072621 - Long-billed Plover - Macaulay Library
Your recording sounds fine for Little Ringed to me.

This bird is actually a small ringed plover, but careful comparison of its size and features with known features will help confirm identification.
