Pocket binoculars (2 Viewers)

The Curio 7x21 and UV 8x21 are the two best pocket binoculars IMO. It just depends on if you like 7x or 8x better. With 7x you have a better DOF, a bigger FOV, it is brighter, and you can hold it steadier. With 8x, you can see more detail. The build quality is good on both, with the Curio being a little more elegant, and the UV is tougher with more armor.

Yes. Tight pockets.
The trinovid was the smallest. But still not really comfortable. I also carry my keys in my jeans pocket, as well as my smartphone in the other. No place for a pocket bin left...

Reinier,

Have you tried shirt pocket carry, with or without the strap?

I agree with you. And if Leica would release a UV 6x20 I would get it! The eye relief of the 8x20 is a bit too short for my full satisfaction, despite it's possibly the longest ER of 8x20s.With 6x ER should be fully satisfactory.

Yes Ultraview is 8x20 not 8x21 and its field of view is not large. But I thing one extra mm and a larger field of view would make quite a difference in the ease of positioning the eyes to them. Exit pupil would rise from 2.5 to 2.62 and if helped with a larger fov the added comfort of eye placement would be noticeable.
Think about Docter 8x21 with its large fov Binoculars DOCTER Fernglas 8x21 compact
From my experience 2.5 is too small exit pupil but 2.62 is ok for a sunny day. Maybe extra fov makes the difference.
