Hello Perry, hope you are well. Perhaps some were the same long standing members of the Devon birding community whose selfish and thoughtless attitude completely screwed things up at Start Point a few years ago. Because they were to busy / idle to walk a bit farthur than they thought neccesary they parked in places they knew not to and climbed dry stone walls etc instead of using gates and walked across fields they were asked not to. This just for a Radde's. The result was that a friendly, welcoming farmer changed from being delighted to having birders on his land to one never wanting any there again. I am grateful he still lets me birdwatch on private areas but he has made it clear anything found here must be surpressed. This is tragic, if ever i found something mega here i would love to share it but now can't and for something like a Brown Shrike i guess i'd probably need help which i now would not have access to. Let's be honest, we know we should not enter fields unless there is known public access or we have explicit permission else we should assume no entry. It's not rocket science to know where we can / cannot go without local landowners blessing. People let their hearts rule their heads, get carried away and ruin things. Best wishes, Perry ( the other one ! )
