Hello all,
Back to my photos, which are awful with my current phone. Unfortunately the birds were also quite distant, at least 400m off. I did have good views through scope at 60X, though.
Two birds here. I'll try and post sets of each one. Bird #1, I think, may be a 3rd-winter Lesser Black-backed with paler mantle (I've seen and posted about that here before). Would love any opinions still, but it didn't jump out too much and I thought it had too much marking on the bill for adult.
Bird #2 stood out immediately due to mantle color. The times it was awake, I thought the face/head pattern (and wingtips) indicated full adult. Through the scope, the bird's legs were a dirty pinkish color, different from both the Herring and LBBGs next to it (adults). Size was nearly identical to LBBG, maybe a bit on the small size even. I wonder if this is a mark against hybrid.
Photos below are of bird 1. No problem if nothing can be done due to pic quality here.
