Avast updates automatically everyday with a cheery American voice telling me it has done so! On the other laptop with AVG if it has not been used for a time a warning comes telling me it needs updating and I am not protected. However if I ignore this warning within a few minutes a sign pops up in the screen corner to say that I am now fully protected. So as far as I can see they both do the same job but tell you in diferent ways how they are doing it.</p></blockquote><p></p>
