Programs of the Shorebird Conservation Society (1 Viewer)

The Shorebird Addict
Let me introduce two programs of a new community for shorebirds. The Shorebird Conservation Society has recently launched two important programs what is fundamental for shorebird conservation. The African-Eurasian Shorebird Survey is a regular (monthly - except the peak months) effort for monitoring migrating and resident shorebirds anywhere in the African, Eurasian and Indonesian region. To join this program, the survey sites are requested to be registered here.

The other program is the Breeding Shorebird Atlas which aims to map shorebird distributions, abundance and threats of all the shorebirds of the world. It is our first global program. The program runs for 5-6 years (uncertainty lies in the Covid-19 Pandemic). Birders are surveying as many 1x1 UTM squares as possible. To make a preliminary registration, please visit this page.

Join our community by filling out our membership form. No membership fee yet.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us by email or social media (details on the website).
