Adolphe Delessert (1809–1869) was a French naturalist who collected in India (1834–1839), sponsored by his wealthy uncle. He met Jerdon (q.v.) in the Nilgiri hills and gave him a new babbler, which Jerdon described in his honour. He wrote Souvenirs d'un Voyage dans l'Inde Exécuté de 1834 à 1839 (1843).
