Took these shots in a hurry in the car park at Hickling Broad on 27th July 2006. Thought it was a male Marsh Harrier at the time, but could it be a Red Kite and if not why not?

C'est pas ma faute, je suis anglais.
yes, definitely a marsh harrier, for one there are no pale patches on the underside of the primaries.

Hate to go against the grain - and i'm showing my ignorance here, but I immediately thought kite?

The tail doesn't look long enough for marsh harrier, neither does the wing structure?

Shame about the angle of shot on the tail
