By brother is currently on holiday in Sierra de Gredos in Spain. I would be very grateful if any members of this forum could suggest the identification from this photo that he took. I apologise for the fuzzy quality.

Hello Ron,

the choice is between Golden and Imperial Eagle.
Lack of whitish-cream shoulder patch, warm caramel-rusty neck (with subdued contrast to the dark head) and proportions of head/bill (although I am no expert ), makes this a Golden Eagle imo.

I agree with Alexander, such a dark Spanish Imperial Eagle would show white on shoulder, even in an subadult. Everything else Alexander mentioned is correct too: colour of neck and massive body compared to head, although is a bit difficult in this position.
