Rare and Scarce Birds in Staffordshire (2 Viewers)

Apparently there has been a Marsh Harrier on the N Staffs moors for about
2 weeks, not sure if its still around, it was in the Boarsgrove area. Seems
like the birders who go up there on a regular basis arent that keen on sharing
their finds! bet they would of all twitched the Pallid Harrier if it had stayed tho.

Has anyone got any details on the Ring Ouzel sighting on the Chase today ?

Thanks

Andy R.

Only details on the pager are that it was on the chase this am then flew north towards Brocton Coppice.

Extra News for 15th Apr

Crane - still Radford Meadows viewable from canal
Short-eared Owl - Berry Hill Fields also 3 Redstart

Apologies for lateness, it was mine (and a mates)! The bird was perched briefly in a tall birch in the north sherbrook and flew north and lost to view over the hill. Had a quick look but couldn't see it afterwards.

I'm sticking my head in to the lion's mouth by saying this, so I hasten to add that this does not apply to everyone, but I've encountered a few birders in the moorlands who I would struggle to believe...

Having said that I hope the news is true, Marsh Harriers seem to be few and far between this last year in Staffs!

It will sound ungrateful if I say I popped over the border with Leicestershire this morning (shock horror !) to see the three Ring Ouzel near Charnwood Lodge ... But thanks anyway Scott.

Doesn't sound ungrateful at all, the Chase bird was a big surprise and I dare say we've all gone put of our way to see something at one time or another! Hope you had a good day

PS - Crane still at Radford Meadows, but very distant and further north than before
