As far as I know, there have only been two other inland records of s-t lark from Bucks and Northants but if anyone knows otherwise, I'd appreciate an update.
Cheers, Nick
I think Cambs has had one too.

The good news is that a Short-toed Lark spent from June 4th-7th at a location in North Staffs which, if accepted, would be a county first. Obviously the bad news is that it turned up on private farmland and the farmer wouldn't allow information about the bird to be broadcast, not wanting to host the inevitable huge twitch - a real shame.

Lets hope this one moves south! Whitemoor Haye could be a good bet :eek!:

Directions on that site seem non-existent but it could be on or near Scot Hay road. We were heading up that way today anyway so I think we'll go and have a look.
Silverdale CP
Red-backed Shrike present to 14:15 at least. From Black Bank turn onto High Lane (by the mast), from the end of High Lane bear right along the track and after approx 100metres turn right to view the fence line. Excellant find by Paul Birkin and Dave Waller.

Brilliant find LadsB![]()
Russell's provided directions above!
Grid ref is SJ813477
Excellent site tick!
Somehow I missed Russell's post. Possibly it was posted AFTER I started searching for details so I should have re-checked.
Found the site anyway by the simple expedient of driving around a bit in the general vicinity. We spotted the "Scot Hay" pull-in and the map there showed us High Lane (sort of) which we located fairly easily.
Nice views of the bird in persistent drizzle. Also a superb stand of 15 Spotted Orchids beside the path on the way to it that are worth looking out for and a couple of what we think are Southern Marsh Orchids as well. We'll check the latter eventually.
Was that today? Birdguides update says it wasn't there from 9am.
I fancy popping up.
