Great Grey Shrikes(s)

Hi All

No sign at all of any GGS today at either Upper Longdon, early or late afternoon, or at Beau Desert mid-afternoon... but not too surprising at UL as the Kestrel was patrolling the clearfell again.

Still a few birders heading for the Upper Longdon site, but a higher number of photographers have been there on my last two visits ... the majority staying near the top, but a proportion already in place at the foot of the clearfell when I have arrived :-C

Having dipped every time now in the last week or so with this supposed returning bird (and ok, I did see it 15 times last winter) ... I'm going to back off for a while and now stay away ! In other words, it will be there tomorrow etc etc etc !!!

Cheers

Andy R.

Hi. Has there been any sign of the GGS at Upper Longdon over the past few days at all? I was gonna go for it on Saturday but will go elsewhere this weekend if it isn't showing as only got limited time.

I'm off work next week though so I might have a speculative nosey up there some time.

Cheers,

Damian.

Hasn't been reported for a few days now Damian and is usually pretty reliable - maybe it has moved on due to disturbance (from Kestrel or photographers!) or maybe it just hasn't been reported - I'll update on here if it comes on pager.

Had message today that Higgo will be released from hospital today and is staying in Cornwall until ready to return to Scilly - this is not 'straight from horses mouth' so will update if hear anymore - sounds promising tho...:t:

Hi Damian

No sign over the last two or three days as far as I know. I called in briefly on the way back from Trentham on Wednesday afternoon about 3 o'clock. No sign at all, just the Kestrel still !
