Raven: Whispering sweet nothings 😊 (1 Viewer)

Hi John, great picture, I love ravens. They always seem to be up to something, the acrobatics they do and the variety of calls is amazing. I'm lucky to have a good few pairs in my local area.
thank you for the photo, it cheered me up.

I love Ravens. Watched some interesting behaviour yesterday at the Great Orme, N Wales. 2 pairs were flying around aerobatically in close proximity, presumably a territorial thing. I wondered what they were specifically demonstrating. The strength of their pair bonds? Or were they, in fact, split up and each male was shadowing the rival male, and each female was shadowing the other female? I suspect the former, but will go back and see if i can tell from their respective sizes, what was going on. :)

It's very rare to see any ravens around our local area so it's a treat to get up close to them and we were pretty close to those in both my recent IoW threads. The ravens in the post on my other thread had occupied the table next to ours. They really seemed to want to communicate, or possibly were hopeful for a few nibbles. Only coffees on that occasion though! :) :coffee:
