Hi everyone,

I’m overlaying a day in Copenhagen during an upcoming trip and was looking for a good birding site to visit that isn’t too far from downtown Copenhagen. Have about 1/2 day to spend in the field. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I would appreciate some information too. I have birded over in Falsterbo and would like to know the best place to see migrating HB on the Copenhagen side. Thankyou

We were in Amager 12 years ago and really liked that area - it's a big natural space (meadows, forest, wetland) right at the terminus of a metro line.

I'd second Jan's recommendation of Amager. Years ago I also used to bird north of Copenhagen at Skodsborg which had nice coastal areas and good nearby forest. Checking my notes I had Honey Buzzard at Fureso near Holte at the end of August. Both Skodsborg and Holte are accessible by train from the main station in Copenhagen, takes 20-30 minutes.

Thankyou Opisska, I have looked on the map and yes it looks good, I read they have Nike rental too!

Thankyou Jon, yes north is also doable, we are in Copenhagen for two days so I have now something to work with. 🦅

There is a list of birding sites on Zealand (Sjælland) here: Zealand (Sjælland).

No. 31 (Vestamager) has been mentioned, but no. 29 (Utterslev Mose) is also close to Copenhagen.
