Apparently an autumn plumage black redstart, but seems to have rather more red on its tummy than usual for here (i.e. than gibraltariensis).

Probably a 1st summer male Black Redstart, judging by the amount of white on the wing, perhaps of one of the eastern races

On the other hand, maybe a result of the kind of pairing shown in these pictures (from http://www.tarsiger.com)...imagine the young one about a year later and it could look like your bird

Thanks. My first thought was a hybrid. Both types of redstart occur in the vicinity, although this one was with some "normal" looking 1 cy black redstarts.

The rather obvious and extensive white wing panel, even as a 1st summer male prob means it is a hybrid. Eastern races of Black Redstart seem to tend to show smaller or nearly no wing panel. I suspect the extensive reddish colouring on the belly is too extreme for a pure local Black Redstart anyway.

Here's an interesting thread to check out, Gerd posted an adult of similar bird.
By the way I don't think the thread bird is a 1st summer, wings look too fresh for that, it's more likely one of the few ideable 1st winter males.
