Request advice please concerning Common Woodpigeon, UK (1 Viewer)

I was photographing a Woodpigeon the other day and when I got home to look at the images, I noticed this bird seemed to have what seemed to me to have a strange bulbous swelling on the front of it's belly. Perhaps it is just a normal thing. Maybe not. I have attached the photo. I am wondering what this could be. Could it be some kind of tumour, or maybe it is carrying an egg. Not being overly knowledgeable about birds, I do not know.
I would be grateful if anyone might be able to shed some light on this matter.
Many thanks
Ian
