At http://de.geocities.com/holger_merlitz/index.html yoy can find a review of the new Docter 10x42 B/CF vs TS 10x42 vs an old old 1983 model Zeiss 10x40.
Perhaps the newcomer TS is a bargain ?

There are also reviews of other binoculars not so suitable for birding, but still interesting. The review of the Fujinon 10x50 confirm what i said about my 7x50 Fujinon; top quality!

After reading that I am reminded of the kind of quality camera and lens reviews provided a couple of decades ago by magazines such as Amateur Photographer. What a marvellous knowledge and attention to practical detail the reviewer shows.

If Birdwatch and Birdwatching were to read those reviews they wouldn't dare lift their heads for shame. Oh, I forgot. Shame and dignity are things of a past time, too.

Actually they would probably patronisingly say they know their audience. Well, if they said that, they would be wrong in this case.

Dumbing down has become endemic.
