For the past few weeks neighbours on a private FB group said they had spotted a (a lost parrot) in the area and wondered if anyone had lost a pet. From the pictures I identified it as a Ring Necked Parakeet and said it could be a wild one we do have Parakeets in the Duddingston area in Edinburgh but I have never seen them so to hear one was down the road was exciting. I have tried to see it a few times but never seen it. A sighting of it was posted today so I was determined to see it so I went down to the area it had been seen, it didn’t long till I heard it before I saw it it was amazing to see.

0900 on Thursday 13 March: I've just seen one on Leith Links (where Claremont Road meets the Links) - high up in the trees and squawking its head off. Didn't know we had this species living in Edinburgh before googling it, and can't find a record from Leith. I had thought about reporting it as a lost pet before realising it is probably acclimatised.
