Ringing near Gifford, Winter 19-20 (2 Viewers)

Hi Mike, it's great to have a chance to catch up with this thread after my holiday and lovely to see you've Yellowhammers there - I've not seen or heard any round here for ages.

A merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and your family.

Thanks Delia,

Not as many yites as after the good summer of 2018, but there is a flock of 40-50 here staying away from the feeding stations where we ring - they seem to be doing well on the seed in the wild flower areas.

I'm a bit late for Christmas, but best wishes for 2020.

Mike.

Thanks Mike and for the Yellowhammer info - it's great to know that they are doing well somewhere at least.

Hope you have a great 2020 yourself.

This site has suffered considerable "damage" by deer, emptying the feeders and poaching the around them where small birds normally pick up spilt seed.

With the team restricted to my wife and I and as we work in isolated places we hope to finish the winter ringing programme.
