Rosefinch? S E Iran (1 Viewer)

I’m not that familiar with rosefinches- though from photos it does seem good for a common rosefinch. Wingbars seem to match and also the secondaries seem to fit as well. The nice rounded bill seems to fit as well. Hopefully someone with more experience with the species can give you a more informative answer.

Doesn’t look right for Common Rosefinch to me.
Pale bill, uniform greyish mantle, dark tertials with clear pale fringes.
Looks more like what I’d expect Pale Rock Sparrow to look like, but that’s something I have no experience of.

I still see a Common Rosefinch here on structure, wing length and marked wing bars and tertial fringes.
The color of plumage and bill is difficult to assess.

I agree with you as well. Could easily be a pale rock finch but I just don’t see it.
