presume that the Bar-headed Goose seen today with the Greylags is an escapee, anyone any idea where it came from?

Cheers

If it's not then you have found yourself a first for Uk and Ireland;) As for its' provenance your guess is as good as the next blokes, a local collection (likely) or Central Asia (unlikely).....

Shame if someone has lost it! Did check and there were no rings on the legs, or any visible tags.

Google Earth

If you go to Google Earth and check out the north pit you can see the letters RSPB made out of some islands, I was told about this by a volunteer today.
Cool.

on a couple of visits to the Attenborough nature reserve earlier this year they had a pair of Bar-Headed goose hybrids but you had to look really close to see they were hybrid I was wondering if it could have been one of those birds moved on.

I don't think it's a hybrid - picture attached.

Continuing on from my visit to the hide I managed to get another 2 species of wader, 1 Knot on the JWs and a flyover Grey Plover plus another Dunlin was noted. JH picked up a Rock Pipit on call which I struggle to hear nowadays.

Yesterdays Knot was the 30th species of wader for the year, however there was no sign of it this afternoon. A Jack Snipe was my first since March and also seen were 6 Snipe, 4 Black-tailed Godwit and 11 Dunlin.
2 Fieldfare flew over and 2 Stonechat were still around.
