8/8/13 DBP Jubilee wetlands Little Egret, Redshank, 3 juv Shelduck, 4 Common Tern, 4 Teal, Bar-headed Goose and 116 Grey lag Geese. Later Geoff Williams Great White Egret.
North pit Little Egret.
Common Blue Butterfly and Common Darter seen Water Chickweed in flower.

North pit 2 eclipse Garganey, 4 Shoveler, 41 Lapwing, 114 Mute Swan.

Jubilee wetlands 7 Dunlin, 12 ringed Plover, 2 juv LRP, Greenshank, Green Sand and Common Sand. Bar-headed Goose with Grey lags, m Emperor Dragonfly along the ditch by West-East North pit path.

17/8/13 Great White Egret and imm Marsh Harrier Newreedbed pool Geoff Williams and Steve Atkinson.

The juvenile Marsh Harrier was seen in both Staffs and Warks (Dosthill NR to Fishers Mill Pool) for county listers information as it spent 20 minutes checking out the reserve.
Besides the Gt White Egret, 6 Little Egret were seen. With water levels high waders were hard to see but what looked like 2 Knot landed on the Jubilee Wetlands and also seen were 3 Common Sandpiper, 1 Ringed Plover and 2 juvenile LRP's. A Yellow Wagtail flew over.

18/8/13 DBP Great White Egret flew in from Private DBP 10:30 and was seen in it's normal feeding zone Newreedbed pit also Jubilee wetlands, 3 Common Sand, 2 Ringed Plover, report of Wheatear Geoff Williams.
Marsh Harrier Adam Archer.
North pit 2 Garganey, 2 Goldeneye TP also 2 Green Sand and juv Dunlin.
6 Black-tailed Godwit's JD, KJD.

The Great White Egret was flying over the car park and Middleton Farm when I arrived just before 1pm, before it landed back on the reserve. In the next four hours it spent most of the time feeding towards the North end, giving good views to several birders. The Hobby was hunting around Middleton Farm both early and late afternoon.
