Regarding the evil dog, I've found that if you try to talk to him he barks and snarls, but if you look away or ignore him he's OK.

I must admit I was petrified, wanted to find a tree to climb up.

I did carry on walking and he was behind me following. Whenever i turned bk, he was a foot behind me and he would start again, I just didn't want to be ambushed!

30/1/14 DBP Siberian plumaged Chiffchaff (flew over to Dosthill NR) with colybita like call and Chiffchaff.
Dunlin, 200 Lapwing, 2 Goldeneye.
Dosthill NR Siberian plumaged Chiffchaff and 2 Chiffchaff (probably 1 from DBP)
6 Goosander, 12 Goldeneye and Water Rail.
