Hi, these photos were taken late morning on Dec 29 just outside of Hat Yai Thailand, quite close to the large inland lakes there. I was thinking either asian brown flycatcher (but it does have a very prominent eye ring) or brown streaked flycatcher (but the lower mandible is not pale). Perhaps it is a different species then either of these:). Any id help much appreciated.
thank you in advance
steve

Asian Brown has both a pale eye-ring and lores (the area between the nostril of the bird and the eye), although the pale lores are unusually prominent on this bird. What might be causing this impression is that there's a slight extension from the crown cutting down through the loral area. It could also be feather loss. However, in all other respects, it looks like a fairly typical Asian Brown.
