S Thailand passerine help needed please (1 Viewer)

Hi, I am puzzled by the bird in the photos, its eye and face look good to me for a white shouldered starling rather than a daurian starling (which in the photos I have looked at has quite a dark eye), except that it is missing a white shoulder patch. Could someone tell me which of the two it is and why please? Or if it is neither then what species it is because obviously I have not a clue:)
thank you in advance

It shouldn't be a juvenile at this time of year, but is a female White-shouldered (possibly first winter).
Female White-shouldered also have little white in the wing (possibly even less in first winter birds than adults), which may not always be visible.
The pale iris is a good way to distinguish these from Daurian and Chestnut-cheeked.

Thanks John. I should read the guides more carefully:). After mistaking a Daurian for a white shouldered not too long ago I appreciate the clarification.
all the best
