Sandhill cranes breeding (1 Viewer)

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows information about Sandhill cranes breeding. There is an adorable couple that visits our house often because we put birdseed out. However, we have never seen a chick with them. We've known the 2 sandhill cranes for over a year but no baby has ever been born. Sometimes however, they go a while without coming to visit for food.

Does anyone have any clue why I haven't seen a baby? We would love it if they had a chick, it would be amazing. Does anyone know if every couple usually breeds?

They don't breed until they're several years old; if this is a new pair, they may still just be settling in. Otherwise - they are long-lived birds, and chick mortality is high in the first few days. If they fail one year, there's always next year.
