A pleasant sunny hour (3.00-4.00ish) at Forge Mill, finally connected with the Great White Egret. Just the usual, including 3 Common Snipe feeding in the open. Unfortunatley the common Sand remained elusive, as did the Med Gull, hidden behind the reeds. The GWE arrived just before 3pm and flew off towards North Island around 3.50. It spent 90% of its time preening, hence the headless photos
Pic1 Preening! Pic 2 Little & Large both preening.

PS year list up to 66 & life to 135. latest both GWE

Early start Swan pool and Hill Top checking for Ring Ouzels but very quiet migration wise. Plenty of Chiffchaffs about, Redpolls, Blackcap. Only thing of note on Swan pool was the GW Egret.
Loads of Woodpigeons, particularly in the paddocks, and 26 Stock Doves on Swan pool meadow at 7am.
