Male and female Goldeneye on Swan Pool (as spotted previously). A few little Grebes as well. Redwing all over the place (seem to make quite a row in the trees, particularly at Hill Top).

The Month got of to a good start with the Cetti's Warbler by the Sluice, Chiffchaff by the Bench, a Raven over Monks meadow and a Peregrine causing Mayhem on Forge Mill, on the 2nd there was a Chiffchaff between Ice House and the motorway, On the 3rd we had a female type Stonechat in Swan Pool meadow, the Green sandpiper was back in the Marsh later being joined by a second bird and a Peregrine was over Monks meadow, the 5th gave us a Chiffchaff at Salters Lane, a possible Yellow Browed Warbler was heard briefly on the 7th but couldn't be relocated, on the 8th we still had a Chiffchaff at Salters Lane and a Woodcock was flushed along the River by the Newton Road, on the 11th the Cetti's was still vocal near the Sluice and s Crossbill flew over Forge Hill, on the 12th a Whooper Swan flew over Newton Road Paddocks and a Stonechat was at Salters Lane, on the14th the cettis warbler was in the Marsh, on the 15th we still had a Chiffchaff in the Marsh, on the 16th we had a Stonechat at Salters Lane and 2 Greylag in Dartmouth park, on the 18th the Green Sandpiper was back in the Marsh, the 20th gave us 300 Pink Footed geese over Forge Mill, 3 Jack Snipe in the Marsh and our first Common Gull of the Autumn/winter, the 23rd gave us Red kite over Swan pool, on the 24th we had a Adult Yellow legged Gull on Forge Mill, on the 26th we had 3 Raven fly over Forge Mill, the 27th saw our first Goldeneye of the Autumn/winter with a female on Swan Pool, on the 28th a male joined the female Goldeneye, on the 29th we still had a Chiffchaff at Hill top and the Cettis was still on the Marsh, the last day of the month saw a Pheasant on the Golf course but other wise it was very quiet.

Friday 11th Dec
A couple of hours around Forge Mill, very disappointing, extremely low on the wildfowl front compared to recent years, no Wigeon, no Gadwall that I could see and not a single Snipe showing. The Marsh devoid of any birds The feeders at the Centre had more Rats than birds. The only thing of note was the arrival of 7 Barnacle Geese @ 2pm, 2 Little Egret and 2 Common Gulls, One of which was ringed, Hughie took record photo to try and establish the Nr. in full.
