Scaup or tufted, central Scotland (1 Viewer)

I'm guessing this is just one of those female tufties with a lot of white around the bill but could it be a scaup and can we be sure from the poor pictures?
As I see it the pro-scaup features are: no hint of a tuft from any angle, back looked greyer than nearby female tufties.
Pro-tuftie: one image looks like a broad black bill-tip but I'm not sure that's not just shadow, not obviously bigger than nearby tufties.
Seen today at Bothkennar pools, Falkirk, Central Scotland

there`'s so much light on those, also on the flanks on some photos , that ist difficult to say how pale they really are . there will be greyish vermiculated feathers there in scaup , see previously linked photo
