That's terrible, any action being taken?
Thanks for all the info everyone, very helpful!

A lot of huffing and puffing but unfortunately despite overwhelming circumstantial evidence without a body/witness nothing can be proved, It is a total disgrace and questions are being asked in the Scottish parliament but "insufficient evidence" precludes a prosecution despite the fact that it is obvious to everyone what is going on.

Still, I have seen Goldies here for the past three years so do not give up hope. Probably still the best bet in the region

Re ranger walks on Cairngorm.
There appear to be two options - four hours Coire An T-Sneachda or 2 hours Coire Cas Loop?
Has anyone done either of these walks and able to offer thoughts on whether the four hour work is worth the extra effort?

Used to be, sadly. In the last few years, massive raptor persecution on the nearby Moy estate has wrecked much of the area's interest. 12 radio-tagged eagles alone have 'gone missing' there in the last 7 years; anyones' guess how many more untagged birds. And many more killed illegally on other grouse shooting estates in the Findhorn area too.

Dis-spite this the Findhorn valley is still a good place to see Golden Eagles. Last year on a walk along the valley we had 5 sighting of at least 3 individuals and the year before we had 4 Eagles in the air at the same time.
