Scridifer's Bulgarian List 2025 (1 Viewer)

We had a guide who arranged everything for us, not sure I would do it on my own tbh. The driving, especially around Banjul and WCR is absolutely crazy!

Chris
It’s the driving that mainly puts me off as far as a lot of places goes. Hats off to the people who do these trips totally independently but the idea of being one car problem or police stop away from a ruined trip or the actual hassle of driving puts me off a lot

Thanks Owen! Missed the woodie Today though so will have to see at the end.

Chris

We missed them at the usual sites too. Heard them in a village while driving and stoped for them luckily. I think we heard them again on later days and they seemed to respond to tape so fingers crossed you’ll run into some

No tristrams? We had to work that tape into the ground before we really hopefully thought we were getting replies for a second after the tape stoped.

I think the wetness has really slowed down migration. Lots of vegetation even in proper desert so birds aren’t being pushed out by heat and dryness

Unfortunately not. Weather not the kindest, on the cold side and a couple of showers yesterday afternoon. Fingers crossed for Today!

Thats more like it😀 glad you got the woodpecker back.

Very interesting to see you go to the same places as us and get different birds a week later. We didnt get the hoopoe lark until the real desert and didn't get the courser anywhere. Scops owl would have been nice too although I have seen and photographed them before
