Budapest latest Friends Dribs and drabs still coming in here. Last night I had 2 more Centre-barred Sallows - doing very well with them this year. 2 very tatty Large Yellow Underwings, and the two below, which I believe to be Brick (2 of those, too!) and Gothic (or 'The' Brick and 'The' Gothic). Gothic would be a new species for me, so I'd be pleased for some confirmation (or negation) on this - it's plainly a somewhat faded specimen, but seems to have enough of the right markings left to ID it - all the cross lines are there if you look carefully. The other - from 3 nights ago - is a Scarce Blackneck, my second ever, the first being in 2004, the first year I started seriously mothing here on the balcony. As it's a UK rarity, I thought you might enjoy seeing it. Pictures from back and front. I've also been getting some Svensson's Copper Underwings, too. And an unexpected Orthopygia glaucinalis 2 nights ago - nice fresh one, too! Nice day again today - up to about 18C and sunny all day - so I'm hopeful for a few more moths tonight. 2 Spotted Flycatchers in the the Ash Trees opposite and yesterday 2 Chiffchaffs in the back garden - and one even sang this morning!! - so there's some kind of migration taking place Best David
