This must’ve been the worst September for birds at this site in the history of ever !
After recent events and, as an à propos to even more recent conversations, I’d meant to proffer a rewording of the following, based on the King James version of the Bible - assembled by six committees and published in 1611. This only took 7 years. (Some bird news seems to take almost as long to reach the light of day.) As can be gleaned from my amendment of No. 1, this contains some of the most eloquent prose in the English language. However, I quickly became bored and, accordingly, merely adapt this first:

29: 2 Stonechats (1W), 2 Reed Buntings, 4 Buzzards in/off, ↑S 1140h. Another, most reliable & local observer observed a Blue Tit, early morning.
28: 02♪, until Wheatear (in evening).
27: Dunnock.
26: 02♪.
25: 02♪.
24: 02♪.
23: 02♪.
22: 3 Wheatears.
21: 02♪.
20: 02♪.
19: 2 Wheatears, Dunnock.
18: 2 Wheatears, Stonechat.
17: 2 Wheatears, Chiffchaff.

15: Chiffchaff, Wheatear.

13: Chiffchaff (in morning). Red Kite in/off very high, ↑S 1254h.

11: Wheatear (in evening).

8: (Very brief) Spotted Flycatcher.

6: Whitethroat.
5: (Very brief) Phylloscopus sp. Others later saw Chiffchaff.
4: 2 Whinchats, 2 Wheatears.
3: 2 Whinchats, Wheatear.
2: 4 Whinchats, 5 Wheatears, Whitethroat.
1: Whinchat (adult), 3 Wheatears, 2 Whitethroats.
