Shouldn't the RSPB mainly be to conserve birds and not other wildlife?

[QUOTE="JTweedie, post: 3245491, member: 8075"] I'm quite happy for the RSPB to diversify. Mark Avery discusses this in one of his books where he also talks about the possibility of a change of name for the RSPB. I would be happy with that too as long as it was something that reflected what they did. I've noticed my local RSPB reserve is increasingly running guided tours with a variety of themes: wild flowers and butterflies come to mind recently, and I think this is a positive step. Normally quiet bird-wise in summer, it makes sense for them to maintain interest in the reserve during this quiet time and it makes a lot of sense to focus on other aspects of nature which flourish during summer.
