Many thanks for replies :)

The hedge is a delight to see, several different varieties of "shrubs", alive with small birds (never seen, just heard) and a footpath alongside with easy access for my scooter :) :)

Ditto to Spindle. Think thrushes will eat them, but perhaps only as a 'famine food' when there's nothing better?
