Also, when a large % of people who have compared the Swarovski SV and The Zeiss SF say they prefer the Swarovski's optics you should at least compare them before buying the SF.

That was responded to in post number 99. It is just an ambiguous unsubstantiated opinion and is no more valid than my opinion that says just the opposite is the case.

However here is a review that just came out from two experienced reviewers comparing the SF and SV EL products and they concluded:

The Zeiss SF comes out clearly on top.

In order to keep this thread somewhat on topic, I would suggest you post any discussion over on the other thread.

I do agree it would be great to compare before purchasing, but that is not always possible. Plan B is to buy from a vendor with a good return policy.

I am still at a loss as to why you find it necessary to post in multiple unrelated threads suggestions that the SV is superior to the SF, escpecially considering that you have never seen an SF. Maybe you feel you have to be recognized as having whatever you consider is "best". If that is the case, then the SV EL is a great binocular and appears to be the best for you. Is everything better now?

On the subject of lies. Disraeli was quoted as saying that there were three kinds liars: "plain liars, damn liars, and statisticians." I would include today a fourth kind, pollsters.

Hello John,

Pollsters are a subdivision of statisticians.

Happy bird watching,

I guess the 'simple question' of the OP wasn't as simple as we might have hoped for. Zeiss FL 8x32 Victory by the way.

Nikon EDG 8x42. I think. But that's just my opinion, and my opinions are fluid. If not totally unreliable.

Your opinions are normal, Dennis bases his opinions on what he is selling. I dont trust his statements to be anything other than self serving.

I have had the SV 8x32 for two years and I have no intention of selling until I find something better. Anyway I don't think I have ever sold a pair of binoculars to a Bird Forum member outside of a Nikon 10x35 EII to Brock.
