Slowly but steadily becoming a fan of bird watching! (1 Viewer)

Newbie, here. Deer hunter, bass fisherman, love to camp and travel, and most recently, becoming a fan of glassing birds on the farm I live on in NE Georgia. Basically, I’m an all-around outdoor enthusiast. Bracing right now for Hurricane Helene. After rigorous researching, I just bought my first pair of “birding” binoculars. I have my Cabelas and Leupold binos for my hunting ventures, but I didn’t really know what optics to purchase for bird watching. After reading various birder and outdoorsy type opinions on numerous forums, I went with the Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42’s. I only own a Vortex range finder and a couple of their scopes. Really good glass on those particular Vortex optics, but this is my first Vortex binocular purchase. Fingers crossed…Looking forward to learning about birding from members, here, and I’d also love to hear your opinions on the Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42’s I purchased for said bird watching.
Thanks, all!

Hi Stephen and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Thank you, all, for the welcome! Our farm is home to multiple birds. Other than the most common birds I’m familiar with, there are a plethora of others that I’m unfamiliar with, so those particular birds will be relegated to the statement, “…Wow! That’s a really cool bird!” Until I learn their names! Lol!
