Small Raptor in Ontario (1 Viewer)

This was photographed by my brother-in-law in Brampton, Ontario (north of Toronto) on their housing estate this weekend. The photos aren't great as they were taken on a mobile phone through the windscreen of his truck.

I think I know what it is but looking for confirmation from North American / Canadian experts. I believe it had just taken a Mourning Dove.

Thanks in advance

Jonno

Definite accipeter, and it looks like Cooper's to me too (distinct dark cap, apparent size/proportions)

Thanks all. I was torn between Cooper's and Sharp-shinned. Though the size should have made me think Cooper's I had gone for sharpy because I didn't think the tail was long enough or rounded enough hence why I sought your opinions. :t:

Thanks

Jonno
