I saw a new year bird as I was pulling into the parking lot at my store, bringing my Year List up to 459. Doesn't get any easier than that.

459. Sharp-shinned Hawk

Frozen Hawk

I know it was called cold! I just saw my year's first Red-shouldered Hawk sitting out there. It's very, very cold today and that bird must be frigid sitting there up in the tree. I hope that its feathers make good insulation.
And that's #25.

Popped over to the coast at Cresswell Pond yesterday afternoon to de-stress after a nightmare morning at work!!!! I work with idiots and imbeciles - a chimp could do better!!!!!! ;)
But minutes after arriving I could feel the stresses just washing away - who needs a massage? Just pick up the binoculars - always works for me!!! And getting a Lifer always helps too...one tick closer to reaching that elusive 200 which I'm aiming for this year.

Mr.VP!!!
Due to tight work constraints, not much birding this year (in fact it's by far my slowest start...), but quality is proving over quantity....

88 - PACIFIC DIVER!!! (Obvious lifer.... once the BOU decide to spit it!!)
