[QUOTE="MTem, post: 3368231, member: 107707"] One more go before I give up and go away. A lot of the above details the awful things that the EU are doing (or you are alleging they are doing) intentionally or unintentionally that are adversely affecting wildlife within and outside the EU. What none of you are explaining at all is by what mechanisms, or on the basis of what evidence, you think the UK leaving the EU would cause these things to change for the better. Is it just that we can be smug in our non association, and wail and breast-beat about these worthless foreigners? Won't help a single bird or mammal. We need to be in the tent to have impact. A bunch of scientists and researchers have invested a lot of time and effort doing an extensive statistical study over several decades that seems to indicate that countries that join the EU see an increase in Annex 1 species, and others to a lesser degree, relative to those that don't join. And you dismiss this on the basis of what ..... you don't agree, based solely on personal experience ..... It is time logic, reasoning and rational thinking was taught explicitly in our schools. I despair .... Again. You may well have other reasons that suggest leaving the EU is right for the UK but improvement in the security and conservation of EU (or UK) wildlife should not be one of them. For that reason I feel it is only right and proper that the UK conservation charities use their considerable influence to broadcast these studies and explain their reasoning as to why a Brexit could have an adverse affect on UK (through impact on migrating species if nothing else) and European wildlife.
