Song identification for southeastern Arizona small bird (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I've been attempting to identify a song we've been hearing for about the past three weeks in midtown Tucson, Arizona. I haven't been able to get a good look, as they're most often tucked in trees, but they are definitely smaller than a Robin, short beak, non-distinct features. I saw a pair on a wire over the street but couldn't see them clearly enough. I thought I saw a small crest, but not sure. Very Finch-like.

This is likely a very common bird to this area, but all of the ID apps I've tried have not identified this song. The audio file is a bit rough, but you'll hopefully hear a frenetic warbling accented by one or more raspy descending sounds at the end of the call.

I'm probably way wrong but my first thought was a Northern Cardinal.

We all deal with guessing games at times when it comes to birds.

Especially for a novice like me. If my sister hadn't pointed out this song, I probably would never have singled it out. Now, it's the only song I hear when I walk outside. LOL Ack!

I'll continue trying to find whose song this is; if I find it, I'll holler back here.

We have some amazing birds here in AZ, and I would miss them if I moved away. It's amazing to me how bird sounds and sites can be so sentimental and grounding to a place. I miss Chickadees and Blue Jays more than I ever thought I could.

Okay so the one consistent response I've gotten is House Finch. The only thing that's stumping me is that short descending raspy sound at the end of each song.
