Hi Dave David had worked that route out, passing by the Taita Falcon site last night so it was decided that it will be included after all. I realise how long Jos had there but I concentrated on area that i thought we might have a chance with. I spoke to David today and he sad that Clanwilliam and sites around there are just a tad bit too far to include in our itinerary but in the cape area we should be able to include places like the West Coast N.P, Paarl, Kommetjie (where David suggest we spend one night) Table Mountain, Kirstebosch, Simons Town, Constantia Green Belt and we are looking to see if Grootvadersbosh and the Karoo N.P are feasible as well. One big problem is the cost of a mid-week pelagic. If only three of us were to go it would be way out of my pocket range at £231. At the moment we can't seem to find anyone else that can do it so there is a chance that the Pelagic (tragically) might have to be knocked on the head. Our intention at the moment is for four nights in the cape area. From there to Garingboom, spending possibly two nights there. From there to the Sani Pass and reading Jos' report he arrived in darkness spent two nights there and did one & a bit days around there so there is a chance that two nights would do us. Away from the Sani Pass and looking at the eastern side (again looking at Jos' report), these sites seem to stand out. Eshowe, Bonamanzi, St Lucia, Cape Vidal, Mkuzi & Wakkerstroom. So far we have used eight nights and with five nights at Kruger and two nights to get to Joberg that leaves us with five nights to use to cover those eastern sites. What do you think. Are those eastern sites the best to go for or would you suggest anything else, and more to the point is it do-able using the five nights we have left. Could we do that in less time and so give an extra day to Kruger or cape Town or either of the other two areas. I think we are close to finalising a workable itinerary with your help. Unfortunately I have just found out that David is going to France tomorrow afternoon until Aug 8th (I think) so he needs to book places tomorrow if possible. Obviously we can work on the Pelagic at a later date as it is not critical to book that now (unless you know better). John
