I have just moved to La Lucia, South Africa and taken an interest in birds. Could anyone please help identify these little beauties.

One of the weavers, I think. Cape weaver? (Female, or in any event not breeding male)

Weaver, either Village or Southern Masked. I'm leaning towards Village

I agree the combination of reddish eye and dark back suggest Village to me and certainly it was one of the commonest weavers when I was last there.
