These Pipits seen on the coast on 5th February. Rock or Meadow ? Assistance much appreciated. Many thanks, Dave.

Bear in mind that Rock Pipits can have reddish legs that may appear pale in some lights. However, the sullied greyish underparts with somewhat indistinct streaking (Meadow and other pipits show neat black streaks) and cold greyish upperparts are unique to Rock Pipit. Even the closely related Water Pipit shows a warmer back with a brownish tint and cleaner underparts with more contrasting streaking.
