Sparrow help! (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

I am trying to get used to the different sparrow species I am seeing in the area (NY City). On this walk in a shrubby, dry area by the water, I saw a number of song sparrows, and then also, occasionally, something that looked a bit different. Some of them were buffier on the belly than the ones here I managed to get a photo of.

I was wondering if they might be Lincoln Sparrows? The raised crest and some of the facial patterning is making me think twice about them being Song Sparrows.

Let me know what you think!

Much appreciated!
