Comfort Cove Cottage on Vancouver Island
Hello from Sooke, BC!

Wow, this year's migration was fantastic. The rainforest was alive and loud with the birdcalls from our avian friends.

The coolest thing ever! We were on our deck and an eagle with prey landed just a few meters away in a tree. We stayed as quiet as possible and were able to capture lots of photos.

What kind of prey do you think it caught?

It's always a thrill to have Bald Eagles near by. Lucky you.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

We’re glad you found us and please join in wherever you like ;)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Nice to have you join in. I would guess the Eagle had a fish that he had stolen from an Osprey. ;)

Welcome to BirdForum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone.

I'm new into birding but have always loved doing it from my living room, watching my hummingbird feeder.

I really got into when I was woken one morning by a pileated woodpecker banging on the side of my cottage. I ventured outside to investigate and it was HUGE... at least 30 cm tall!

I was hooked.
