I know this works because, having seen it done on tv I attempted to call a couple of Hares which were some 80 yds away from me across a field by drawing air in through my pursed lips which made a high pitched squealing noise. To my absolute delight and excitement they pricked up their beautiful big ears and began to move, slowly at first, towards me. With every step I was thinking that they would suss me and stop, but they kept coming and eventually stopped about 10yds from me. I was chuffed-to-little-mint-balls.
