Strange hooked toe on white-breasted nuthatch (1 Viewer)

I have a white-breasted nuthatch in my area that has a strange looking back toe, shaped like a shepherd's cane, sort of (see pictured, sorry for the bad drawing, i havent been able to get a picture of him). After looking up what their toes are supposed to look like, it seems this is out of the ordinary. Has anyone seen this before? 2020-11-21 09_19_44-Untitled-3-Recovered @ 58.9% (Layer 7, RGB_8#) _.png

Wow! Might be a good idea to contact a Nature Rehabber to see if they can trap it and see what this is all about.
